Do I need a wedding planner?

There’s nothing quite like a budget blowout, a meddling mother in-law, blasé bridesmaids, or a guests list busting at the seams, to give you that “reality reminder” that you’re planning a wedding!

But it just looks so easy – Well at least it does in the images you’re following and
re-pinning on your Pinterest board – doesn’t it?

You see, with the unlimited reach of technology, comes the amazing space of unlimited potential for your ideas and dreams to take shape.
But so too, comes the restriction of reality. And after the budgeting, the bridesmaids & the MOH are under control, then comes the stress over perfection and the attention to detail that you simply can’t be responsible for whilst actually enjoying being the bride!

So, If I had a dollar for every time I’m asked do I need a wedding planner?
I’d literally be able to feed a starving nation!
But I can tell you one thing, if you’ve asked the questions, there’s a high chance you do – and if you haven’t, at minimum you absolutely, need an “On the day coordinator”.

You & your bridal party, plus family & the children, are going to need a small army to perfect hair & make up, wardrobe, photography & transport… so then who is on location arranging set up? styling? hire equipment? catering? ceremony? timing? service staff? ice? drink service? & the pack down? Argh the pack down!

To be executed seamlessly – this requires coordination! So if a planner from start to finish isn’t in the budget then here comes the refreshed version of the old aged question … an “On the day coordinator”

Our Event & Flavour co-ordinators never replaces a bestie, but she will introduce you (both) to the who’s who in the most reputable circles of the industry from on-boarding to execution.
This will save you time and money, and best yet – avoid any last minute let downs you are at risk of when your girlfriends, sisters neighbour is offering to do the wedding cake!

At E&F we encourage you to shop by budget.
Coordination packages start at $770 & increase to $1200 & wedding planning from $1500-$3200.

Coordination services are trending as brides look further a field for a more unique setting than a traditional reception. Think silenced generators, a table in the wilderness, or a pop up or marquee event – been and gone in a weekend!

At E&F we have a few secret spaces up our sleeve, and we help pair you with your perfect space, on budget.

Here are a few local & surrounds, blank canvas spaces we suggest :

Venue Hire < $2,000
You don’t go to Commonfolk by accident, that’s the point. Set amongst the Industrial Park of Mornington, its purpose built as a cafe & coffee roasting warehouse with urban inspired courtyard that flips into a perfect semi-formal, hipster setting for a cocktail event. It’s not only for the Commonfolk, we’ve hosted quite the formal shindig here!

St Andrews Beach Community Hall. I know! Who said Hall?
But this one is special. A limestone building, girthed by outdoor decking – glass ceiling & timber floors, it’s worth a look.

The Briars Barn, Mt Martha. It has some restrictions of use from it’s former glory, but consider this space for a lunchtime wedding. You won’t regret it.

The Old Cheese Factory Berwick. Set amongst manicured gardens for the dramatic backdrop of an era gone by, with a reception space to convert as you please.

For secret spaces suitable for 20-60 people get in touch.

The Shearing Shed at Ace Hi offers a blank canvas Rustic barn with subtle Western inspired surroundings. Plus onsite accommodation – make it a wedding stay.

Iluka Retreat. Think glamping meets cabin stay for that weekend wedding vibe for your tribe – overlooking beautiful wetlands there is plenty of space for a marquee & numerous ideas for your ceremony site.

524 Flinders. Stunning Event Space boasting polished concrete floors and views over Flinders Street – an urban bride’s delight. We’re talking reception probably not ceremony.

Venue Hire < $15,000
Tanglewood Estate, when exclusivity & rural privacy met the result was this picture perfect converted barn, it oozes charm and everything quality in craftsmanship & setting.

Panorama Sanctuary & Gardens, for that wedding setting atop of the world, one of the Peninsula’s rarest setting with diverse gardens & an amphitheatre style look out of it’s own permanent marquee.
